HAKKÂRİ (DİHA) – Abdulkerim Yurtsever, Mikdat Özeken and Münir Sarıtaş had been taken by soldiers from Bolu Brigade and Yüksekova Gendarmerie Commandership 14 years ago and there was no news has been heard from them. Their families are going to apply to Yüksekova Prosecutor of the Republic due to be found and punished the responsible persons.

Three citizens had been taken into custody from Ağaçlı (Aylava) in Yüksekova district of Hakkari by soldiers in 1995. Abdulkerim Yurtsever, Mikdat Özeken and Münir Sarıtaş disappeared since then and their family took the case to the European Court of Human Rights or ECHR which convicted Turkey to pay per person 68 billion in 2004. Now Yurtsever, Özeken and Sarıtaş Families apply to prosecutor to find relatives graves and punish responsible authorities.

Mentioned case was on the agenda of DİHA and People’ Republican Party or CHP Hakkari former deputy Esat Canan in 2005 and now fallowing excavation in Derecik Brigade in Hakkari-Şemdinli disappeared people’ families wanted to be dug Yüksekova Brigade in Hakkari.

Brigades or graves

Yüksekova district Gendarmerie Brigade is the place where 3 missing people most probably buried according to allegations of families.

Son of missing Abdulkerim Yurtsever, Haci Sabri Yurtsever, is speaking; soldiers from Bolu Commando Brigade and Yüksekova district Gendarmerie Brigade had raided on the village. Men in the village had been beaten until late night. Then everybody released except my father and 2 other peasants. There are a lot of witness and statements about their being taken by soldiers. But some of them had been withdrawn because of fear from authorities. There is also confession made by informant Kahraman Bilgiç. We are going to fallow the case until considerable results has been reached.

Former Deputy Esat Canan: a lot of brigades in the region have mass graves

People’ Republican Party or CHP Hakkari former deputy Esat Canan who fallow the case for years spoke to DİHA; I believe army eliminated the mass graves since a lot of witness talked about them. Every body who lives in the region knows these mass graves. Particularly informant Kahraman Bilgiç's saying should be accounted by prosecutors to uncover the unknown perpetrator killings in Yüksekova, Şemdinli and Çukurca. Families of missing and prosecutor have to be sensitive about the events in 90’s in this area which most probably related with Ergenekon case.
