HAKKARI (DIHA) – Father Halit Tetikçi looks for his son Nezir Tetikci’s killers 15 years after his being killed. Son Nezir had been killed by soldiers when he was under custody according to 60 year-old father’s allegation. On the other hand, according to army’s allegation, Nezir Tetikci died because of mine explosion on 27 April 1995. Father Tetikci applied to the Human Rights Association (IHD) due to legal aid.
24 year old Nezir Tetikci was working as shepherd in Yakariodlek Village in Yuksekova district of Hakkari. Soldiers from highly disreputable Bolu Commando Brigade was also around the area due to operation against Kurdish Workers Party (PKK). Soldiers took son Tetikci under custody and then asked for help to follow guerilla on the mine field. Soldiers forced the other Kurdish soldiers to execute him by shooting when Nezir Tetikci resisted not helping the soldiers. Then his body was broken up by mine explosion, according to father’s claim.
Tetikci family is one of victims of forced immigration
Father Mehmet Tetikci explains: “We had to immigrate from our village because of oppression in 1989. We tried to resist but we couldn’t. We –my two sons and two daughters in laws- had to move out. Then my son went to around Ekmala Jur Village due to feed our animals. There was the operation at the same time and soldiers had arrested my son as we heard. He stayed three days under custody before soldiers informed us that my son was death because of mine explosion. I insist them to tell the truth and one of soldier told me that my son was forced to show PKK camp and they executed him by shooting when he said that he didn’t know.”
First a sergeant shot him and then 20-22 Kurdish soldiers shoot him to death. Mines in the brigade had been brought and exploded on his body in order to lost trace of shooting, according to father’s saying.
On the other hand İsmail Akbulut, president of IHD Hakkari Branch also said that the allegations are correct and the names of killer had been known since the case on the agenda but there is no investigation had been opened. Thereby this is not a extrajudicial killing and we are going to follow the case and do everything whatever it takes.
