Celebrations of 23 April Children Festival is marked by children of TMK victims all around Turkey. 25 aggrieved children because of TMK went to TBMM to visit BDP deputies and make a statement behalf of imprisoned or trialed children according to TMK in Turkey. Agit Er who read the press releas was their voice in the TBMM. Agit criticized the TMK and State for acting mercilessly against Kurdish children:
“My governments are entertaining thousands children come from different countries in my country. But I’m still starving, having nightmare because of brutal act of security forces, not knowing how and why my village was set the fire, not forgetting the scene of my father’s being beaten and also still in prison. I have been getting mature rapidly but -as a State -your common conscious is still deaf and blind.”
Children also asked government to release their friends who are imprisoned or convicted by heavy punishment and reminded the incidents and deaths of children; “I’m 14 year-old S.T. I had been beaten by police just in front of cameras on 23 April last year. I was scared to death also hurt. You had watched me from your TV screens in your houses as like watch a movie. You did not feel my pain and fear. I’m Kurdish child from Hakkari, Diyarbakir or Adana. I do not understand why I had to be confronted with such merciless. Are you comfortable when I was beaten by butt? Don’t you feel anything? Don’t you feel my excruciatingly painful soul?”
‘I want to be a child like yours’
13 year old Agit also addressed public opinion referring imprisoned child Berivan who was on the agenda because of her letter to columnists; “Remember how screamed Berivan; ‘I miss my family. How I’m going to spend my childhood in prison. I believe that you cannot act same way if we were your child.’ When I think our situation I guess Berivan is right. You might not act against us if we were your child. I do not want to weak up by screaming my mom. I want to hug my mom. I do not want to cry. We are about 4 thousands who are waiting to be heard by you.”
BDP deputies were also attended the press meeting of children and addressed the attendees of TBMM group meeting. They expressed the situation of child victims and said that “Humankind is being drugged on the ground by the TMK.”
