MARDIN (DIHA) – According to allegation the animal carcasses and human bodies were buried together in 1995 in Dargecit district of Mardin. Allegation was made by Davut Akyön brother of Nedim Akyön, he was the one of victims disappeared in 1995.
Horrible allegations about soldiers and security forces have never ended in Southeastern and East Turkey. “The animal carcasses and human bodies were buried together in 1995 in Dargecit district of Mardin. There were 4 guerillas from Kurdish Workers Party or PKK and 2 civilians including my 13 year old brother.” said Davut Akyön.
7 persons including 4 children were disappeared following being taken into custody by soldiers on 29 October 1995 in Dargeçit.
Witness Davut Akyön explains; “My brother had been taken by soldiers when we were together. There were also 6 more people 4 of them children who had been taken into custody. Then I went to station to ask my brother’s situation. The commander told me that my brother was released but we have never heard from him since then. Extrajudicial killings, torture and kidnappings were very common incidents in the region and I could say nothing to find my brother or report the soldiers. As we heard then, those 6 people and my brother had been tortured also. Then I began to search to find my brother. I have seen a lot of terrible things which made me scared but I’m not going to give up looking for my brother.”
One of incident he witnessed is very confusing according to his saying; “There were 4 guerillas including a women guerilla killed during armed conflict with soldiers. The guerillas’ bodies had been thrown on the tractor and taken a long ride around the villages for intimidate people. My brother wasn’t one of them. Then the bodies had been dumped into a huge hole next to the Dam Road. The bodies were covered by a digger. Everybody around the road saw this but no one can speak because of fear.”
Incidents brother Akyön witnessed made him to think that the bodies might be buried by animals’ carcasses; “There are excavation that animals’ bones had been found and as we know there must be human remaining. Its explaining that animals carcasses might be buried with human bodies.
Abdurrahman Coşkun (18), Abdullah Olcay (21), Hazni Doğan (9) ile ağabeyi Seyhan Doğan (13), Mehmet Emin Aslan (18), Nedim Akyön (13), Davut Altunkaynak (12) ve Süleyman Seyhan (58) had been disappeared on 29 October 1995.
Mother of 13 year old Seyhan Doğan went to ask her son’s situation. She couldn’t get any answer but then she heard from 9 year old Hazni Doğan that all detainees had been brutally tortured. Mother Asiye had been also disappeared following her complaints about the situation on the Kurdish TV. She had been found seriously tortured and then she died during her cure because of torture.
In addition, one of 6 detainees 58 year old Süleyman Seyhan’s body was found burned in a pit.
