There are new allegations about May Day 1977, which was unenlightened case for 33 years, made by journalist Nazim Alpman who produced a documentary movie about the May Day incidents. According to documentary film titled “Bloody Wedding of Labour” there were 44 deaths on May First 1977 instead of 37. There was armed attack on May Day celebration in 1977 and 37 were killed by unknown perpetrator or counter guerilla as highly assumed and Nazim Alpman, producer of the documentary, is also one of witnesses of the massacre.
There were 7 more names who died during bloody May Day massacre; Ali Yeşilgül, Mustafa Ertan, Yücel Elbistanlı, Tevfik Beysoy, Bayram Sürücü, Özcan Gürkan and Hülya Emecan were also killed during the counter guerillas fire at the mass that celebrate May Day in 1977.
Nazim Alpman, producer of the documentary movie speaks; “I believe the facts about May Day 1977 need to be spoken again since there are lots of unenlightened data. And I also believe that we can see everything more clearly than 33 years ago. I collected significant amount of documents besides statements of witnesses. Again the minds are more open now if we compare with 33 years ago. We had to search little more deeply which we did and reached the fact that there were 44 deaths instead of 33. This is a really shameful situation of judicial system which needs to reopen the case due to get all the facts about bloody May Day massacre. “Bloody Wedding of Labour” is one of humble efforts on it.”
