İSTANBUL (DİHA) - According to data by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), a rise was realised in the 2003 based Consumer Price Index (TÜFE) on the previous month by 0,56% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 6,95% in January 2012 whereas the monthly change in Producer Prices Index (ÜFE) was realised by 0,38% and a rise of 11,13% was realised compared to the previous year.
The highest monthly increase was 2,06% in the index for transportation by main expenditure groups. The highest increase was 18,53% in the index for alcoholic beverages and tobacco compared with the same month of the previous year.
Cucumber was ranked first in price increases in January with a rise of 34,58%, followed by national lottery tickets and white cabbage.
