DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) – Turkish women argued peaceful way to solve the Kurdish problem during Women Forum titled “We have Word to Say, We have Power to Solve” in Diyarbakır. Women said that words are running out we need concrete steps.
Demands, whishes and hopes about resolving Kurdish question in Turkey are on the agenda of all part of society as well as women, who were in Diyarbakır to participate in the forum to share their opinion about peaceful way to finish the war to solve the Kurdish problem spoke to DİHA.
‘Love and peace are nothing without real steps’
Antikapitalist Tülay Koçak: Love and peace are nothing without real steps. We want to share our views, offers as well as discuss the way to solve the problem. Firstly guns have to be laid down like Ahmet Turk said. We have to be active in order to make our peaceful voice hearable by other part of society. There are also a lot of similar experiences which we can discuss over these examples.
'There is no good thing happening’
Writer İnci Hekimoğlu; I do not believe in saying that there will be good things happened unless respondents speaks each other. Kurds have considerable suggestions. Kurds’ demands are clear while others’ not. Authority needs to stop the guns while PKK are being asked to stop the guns. This is the first step which is essential. And then an amnesty is necessary for fighters to involve in political ground and maintain the struggle on the legal base. Other wise they need to stay under ground and you cannot criticize them to be under ground as authority.
‘Apprehension needs to be changed’
Television announcer Saynur Tezel; public has common point which is this problem need to be solved as soon as possible. I do not believe in radical sayings which prevent the dialog. We need communication firstly. For that apprehension needs to be changed as well as terminology. And then there is no reason remains not to solve the problem. All words have been told particularly negatives ones. Now we need soft words to say and also to believe. Also, fingers need to be taken off from triggers as first step. Other wise none of can explain their selves. You cannot ask unilateral cease fire. You cannot ask only PKK to lay down the guns without take a meaningful step. We have to unite against war and for peaceful future.
SODAP Free Women employee Canan Arı; Sayings are not sincere to me. Women and oppressed people need to be against war. Government has to show their sincerity and for it government has to give up from guns.
