Curfew imposed in Ovacik district of Tunceli
15:06 17.07.2010
TUNCELI (DIHA) – The Gendarmerie Commandership has prohibited residents of Ovacik to leave their homes at night.
The Gendarmerie’s order may be considered one tool in the overall policy of state of emergency. However, the decision came without any official backing.
Therefore, residents asked deputies and human rights activists t to send an independent committee to the village in order to understand the aggravation that the curfew causes people and to assess its legality.
