Kurds discuss democratic self-government in the region
NEWSCENTRE (DİHA) Mayor Osman Baydemir’s speech on democratic self-government, Kurds have argued it throughout the Region. Executives of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) carried on the discussion. According to them, autonomy is the best way to solve the Kurdish problem in peaceful way. However, some of cities in the region have already begun to run with autonomy’s some particular rules. Citizens try to solve the most of their problems through BDP’s branch organizations or some trustworthy NGOs instead of applying to the official institutions since the bureaucracy became sort of barrier before justice.

No doctor for prisoners in Bitlis E Type prison
Women prisoners in Bitlis E Type Closed Prison complaint about poor health service in the prison. It was reported that there is no doctor for a long time in the prison. If needed, the prisoners have to wait around ten days to access to even for a simple medical service.
Raids followed attack in Van
Following the attack on District Security Directorate in Çaldıran district of Van, where at least 4 policemen were wounded, the houses of BDP supporters were raided. It has been reported that there are no detainees at the raids made on the houses.
A soldier dies in Dicle/Diyarbakır
A soldier died during the attack on the Security Chief Office and the Special Force’s point in Dicle/Diyarbakır last night. According to the report, wounded soldier Cemal Yalın died after being taken to Diyarbakır Military Hospital. The body of soldier Yalın will be sent to his hometown after a ceremony. Air supported military operation began following the attack.
Six corpses in Van hospital
It was alleged that the bodies of six persons who lost their life in the ambushes in Çaldıran district of Van and in Hakkari last night were brought to the Van State Hospital. Turkish officials claimed that the bodies are of members of People’s Defence Forces (HPG).
It was reported that 3 persons, in the ambush of police basis in Van, and 3 others, in a clash took place between special forces and members of HPG in Hakkari, lost their lives. HPG has made no comment regarding the allegations.
Conscientious objector İnan Suver arrested
İnan Suver, conscientious objector and activist for Kurdish Conscientious Objector Movement, was arrested for being draft dodger following house raids. He was sent to Kasımpaşa Militray Prison in İstanbul. Suver announced his objection to serving as soldier in Turkish Military Force (TSK) in 2001 and was tortured in Şirinyer Military Prison.
