The conditions to extend ceasefire released by Karayilan
NEWSCENTRE (DIHA) – Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) leader Murat Karayilan set conditions to extend the ceasefire that will last on September 20, reported ANF.
According to ANF report, President of the PKK’s umbrella organization Kurdistan Democratic Confederation (KCK) Murat Karayilan said that the aim of the ceasefire is to pave the way of a bilateral truce between Turkish state and the PKK.Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) leader Murat Karayilan set conditions to extend the ceasefire that will last on September 20, reported ANF.
He demanded the release of the 1700 Kurdish politicians and activists still in jail. Karayilan also said that Turkish state must lay out the framework for Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan's active participation to the peace process
Karayilan labeled 10 percent election threshold as a barrier to Kurdish political parties and called Turkish to lower it.
Karayilan also called the president of Federal Kurdistan Government Massoud Barzani to take role in peace process and welcomed Barzani’s statements after the declaration of ceasefire.
Kurdish associations in Europe support Democratic Autonomy
Representatives of 228 Kurdish organizations throughout Europe issued a statement in support of BDP's boycott campaign, in Dusseldorf and also declared their support for Democratic Autonomy as the only method to find a peaceful solution to the Kurdish Question. The organizations called on the United Nations, United States, Russia and European Union to contribute to the peace process.
On the other hand , many organizations from trade unions to various NGOs in Turkey presented their support for cease-fire declaration of PKK. They considered the unilateral cease-fire as a chance mustn’t be missed and also must be turned into a bilateral cease-fire.
Three years imprisonment threats Baydemir
Three years of imprisonment was demanded for Osman Baydemir, Mayor of Diyarbakır, for his statements. Baydemir swore at ruling government in a press conference: “You cannot divide us as hawks and pigeons. F*** off I say. F*** of” he said. Baydemir’s statements came after police’ detaining more than 50 Kurdish politicians including mayors.
40 more village guards to resign in Şırnak
40 village guards in Hilal-Uludere district of Şırnak will resign after commandership of gendarmerie station verbally insulted them. According to allegation military officers try to persuade them to not resign.
649 NGOs in Diyarbakır to warn government: Take a step, immediately
Following PKK’s cease-fire, 649 NGOs in Diyarbakır will held a meeting to warn government to take a step as soon as possible to solve the Kurdish problem.
In addition, BDP Iğdır Branch asked authorities to turn PKK’s unilateral cease-fire into bilateral cease-fire in order to reach an end of violation. Then Kurds celebrated the cease-fire declaration.
Talabani invited DTK representatives
A Kurdish envoy from North Kurdistan will meet Iraqi president Jalal Talabani in Baghdad to discuss the terms of organization of a Kurdish national conference which is on the agenda of Kurdish political powers for over three years.
DTK envoy will also meet with Nechirvan Barzani, former prime minister of Federal Kurdistan Government. DTK envoy met with president of Federal Kurdish Government Massoud Barzani last month for the same purpose.

Overloaded prisons invite violation of prisoners’ rights, said Human Rights Association’s (IHD) Mersin Branch that held an investigation on problems in Mersin Prison. The prison administration also confirmed the right violations as the prison is overloaded.
American journalist to be deported in the next week
Detained American journalist’s lawyer, Sarkan Akbas, said Jake Hess could be deported in a week to 10 days. Jake Hess based in Diyarbakir and his reports were mostly being published by an international news agency called IPS. He was detained by Turkish police last week. Court ordered deportation for Hess on Sunday. Hess is still being kept in a detention center in Diyarbakir.
