İZMİR (DİHA) – Abdurrahman Sözen, allegedly committed suicide in the Gümüşpala Police Station in İzmir. Father Şeyhmus Sözen found the allegation suspicious; my son might be killed by police in the station. I’ll do everything whatever it takes to reveal the truth.
One more case has been added in suspicious death in the police stations. Recently, 24 year old Abdurrahman Sözen allegedly committed suicide by using police officer’s gun when he was handcuffed. Event occurred Gümüşpala Police Centre which has bad reputation about torture and suspicious death in the centre. Father Şeymus Sözen also alleged that his son might be killed by police since his son was handcuffed during the custody.
Family attorney Nezahat Paşa Bayraktar also repeated that Sözen’s suicide looks very suspicious and they are going to launch the process to search and investigation the case.
“From negligence to deliberate act have to be investigated about the case. One thing is certain which is there is a scandal as security forces since there are no camera record about the case.”
Mentioned police station was on the agenda because of maltreatment against people under custody, such as 9 people had made denouncement about maltreatment and torture in 2003 and there are right violation had been stated by TBMM Human Rights Committee.
