ISTANBUL (DIHA) –Increasing operations concern locals about the security of the region. Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Istanbul Branch held a march to protest the expanded operations and police brutality against attendants of People Defense Force (HPG) members’ funerals.

“We do not accept the attacks against our conscience, honor and bodies” was the common banner waved during the march. In addition, the pictures of killed HPG members were carried and slogans in favor of Abdullah Ocalan and Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) were chanted.

Mustafa Avci, Co-Chair of BDP Istanbul Branch, addressed the crowd after the march.

“We have struggled for a peaceful solution of the Kurdish Problem for decades,” said Avci, who blames the Justice and Development Party (AKP) administration. “No one should think that Kurdish people might be silenced by atrocity or brutality. We are at the end of our ropes, but we have never given up before and a solution will be reached. In the very near future, there will be more marches to demand peace. I call on everyone to take part in these activities. “
