Children who grew up in the shadow of war
16:37 20.07.2010
DIYARBAKIR (DIHA) – Joy and sadness weave through the memories of children raised in the shadow of war.
Helicopters provide both fascination and terror from their low swoops and loud sounds. Perhaps their father, uncle or brother was killed by one of them.
Lucky to be young children, but unlucky to be children in Turkey, these boys and girls live for spurts of joy in the trenches of war and hardship.
