ANKARA (DİHA) – Members of Educator Trade Union Eğitim Sen will carry out a long march to Ankara on June 3-4-5 for collective agreement demand. They made a call on democratic groups and people for support their demand for collective agreement and protest operations on KESK.
Eğitim Sen held a press release to inform public opinion about their reactions against KESK operations and activities about collective agreement. The meeting has been supported by members and managers of other public employee trade unions.
“Operations against KESK are unlawful action. Our arrested fellows have to be released. We are going to voice up these demands during our mass march to Ankara for collective agreement. The march is going to carry out from 4 different branches such as Edirne, Hakkari, Artvin and Muğla. And 17 million students and more than 800 thousands of teacher’s demand from 81 cities in Turkey will be shared with public opinion and the government. And so we are asking your support to be more powerful.
Public employers including educators in Turkey don’t have collective agreement right in the current situation. They can have only collective negotiation right which is not obligatory agreement since September 12 military coup. That is why public employers have been fighting since then.
Here are the demands of Eğitim Sen as fallows;
* Equal and free education for everybody.
* Education process needs to be based on scientific, secular and democratic principles.
* Day care, appropriate nourishment, enough milk, medical screening at least one in a year and clean water for our children has to be provided.
* Enough budget for neediness of education area. * No temporary and contracted service in the education system.* Decisions about education system need to be taken by participation of entire parts of the education system instead of just executives.
