KERKÜK (DİHA) -Dr. Faik muhammed Gulphi was chosen again to General Chairmansip in the 3rd common congress of Kurdistan Democratic Solution Party(PCDK).

Dr. Faik Muhammed Gulphi was chosen to General Chairmanship unanimously in the second day of 3rd Common Congress of PCDK. In the election which 170 of votes are counted as valid an assembly consisiting of 16 person was chosen. There was 40 percent qouta to women and 25 percent qouta to young people.

' Ocalan is political will'

Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan was chosen as '' Political will in Kurdistan''. For this the decisions to enter into more active politics and to give speed to campaign '' Abdullah Ocalan is political will'' were taken.

Viyan Soran Caf is honorary member of assembly

Leyla Vali Hasan( Viyan Soran Caf), one of the founder of PCDK, ending her live by setting fire herself to protest extermination policies on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan, had been handled as a special agenda. After discussions Viyan Soran was shosen as honorary member of assembly. After the election, members chanted '' Viva Chairman Apo'', '' Viyan is life''

Confederal organization was accepted

Intensive discussions were held over the program and regulations in the second day of 3rd Congress of PCDK. The program which there are evaluations of Democratic Confederalism predicts ''A democratic Iraq and Confederal society''. The discussions of congress which focused on evaluations of Ocalan on Confederalism took the decision '' The will and organization of people which is not against the state.''

In the congress which only problems of Kurdistan Region and problems of Iraq were handled, the discussions over Kirkuk were subject of controversy. The congress which it was stated that the problem of Kirkuk can not be solved with Federalism but the solution will come with perspectives of Ocalan on Confederal solution and democratic Confederalism was decided to be main agenda of policies of PCDK. It was stated that in the current situation, federalism can not be solution to problems of Iraq and it has deepened the problems more.

The change of name and emblem was not accepted

The change of name was rejected for the name was proposed in the congress by Viyan Soran who set fire herself to protest isolation practises on Ocalan, .

It was discussed that the emblem of PCDK is very similar to flag of Koma Komelen Kurdistan (KKK) meaning Kurdish Confederation and it is confused by everybody. It was rejected, for PCDK accepts the system of KKK and although there are similarities, there are 16 arows in the sun which is in the middle of emblem, in KKK it is 21.

The discussion of co-presidency

Co-presidency model of Democratic Society Party in Turkey was proposed. Discussions were held as with model of co-presidency it will show its difference from other parties in Iraq. It was not accepted since co-presidency model of DTP had created legal problems and political parties law in Iraq does not let this.

The qouta of women is 40 percent

Special importance was attached to women in the congress. Taking part of women in all aspect of society was stressed. It was stated that the women have no place in politics in Iraq and for this reason 40 percent women qouta was exercised for assuring more participation of women in politics. Stara Arif, one of female candidate had taken most of votes in the election of assembly.

The candidates themselves proposed

In the election which did not have lists, 22 candidate compete for assembly, closed voting was held and 194 delegate had used vote. While 24 of votes were deemed invalid, 16 person who got most of votes from valid 170 vote were selected as a member of assembly. It took attention that the candidates proposed themselves.

Dr. Gupi who made closing down speech of the congress by emphasizing PCDK which is a power of democracy in Iraq will continue to its work more actively after the congress said that they will practise the words Viyan Soran had left behind as a legacy. Gulphi who said that they dedicate the congress to Viyan Soran thaked Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan who enlightened them.

The singers of Dicle Culture Center had given concert to delegates. The delegates who danced with pieces had got rid of fatigue of congress.
