İSTANBUL (DİHA) -Revolutionary 1 May Platform, taking attention that 1 May Worker Festival should be celebrated appropriate to its class and historical content, took attention that workers should take part in the chair rather than bureaucrats of trade unions.

Revolutionary 1 May Platform which consists of Independent Revolutionary Class Platform, Periodical of Cagri, Revolutionary Movement, Labourer movement Party, people Culture Centers, Party of People's Liberation, Front of Rights and Freedoms, Periodical of Kaldirac, Alinteri Newspaper and Periodical of Proletarian Revolutionary Stance, had called for celebrating 1 May Worker Festival in accordance with its content. Cihan Kaplan who made statement in Istanbul office of Modern Lawyers Association took attention to increasing hunger, privatization, unemployment and poverty.

'1 May should be celebrated in accordance with its content'

Kaplan, stating that "1 May should be celebrated in accordance with its content, said that Trade Union Confederations which had taken celebrations to their monopoly had not made strong preperations for 1 May celebrations. Kaplan, defending that meetings of 1 May which came under domination of trade union bureaucracy were not realised in accordance with its historical and class content, said that they will do their best for it to be realised according to its content.

' Chairs should be at the disposal of workers'

Kaplan, wanting 2006 Committee of Organizing 1 May to include all trade uninons, party, institution and represantatives of organizations which carry out class struggle, said that for effective and strong 1 May, the call of abondoning work should be made. Kaplan, stating that they want declaration of 1 May as official holiday, stated that workers should take part in chairs of 1 May. Kaplan who criticised bureaucrats of syndicates taking part in chairs of 1 May for giving empty speeches; said that '' Speeches from chair should be done by one male and female worker. It would be meaningful a Kurdish worker giving speech from the chair for brotherhood of peoples.''

' Taksim Square should be field of meeting'

Kaplan, calling syndicate confederations not to make application without consulting 1 May platform and other forces participating to 1 May, emphasized that the place of celebration of 2006 1 May should be Taksim Square. Kaplan who drew attenntion to 1977 1 May said that '' An end should be given to ban of meeting of working class in Taksim Square.'' Kaplan had called all working class to fields of 1 May against policies of extermination and denial to Kurdish people, F type Prisons, poverty and to ask account from cont-guerillas which had been caught red handed in Semdinli.
