Platform of KESK Mardin Branches: TMY bill be withdrawn 14:08 18.05.2006

MARDİN (DİHA) - Platform of KESK Mardin Branches stating that with the Terrorism Bill (TMY) freedom of thought and organization are wanted to be removed, wanted withdrawal of the bill.

Platform of KESK Mardin Branches made a written statement about TMY. In the statement which is stated that returning back will happen with TMY, it is expressed society can not be build with oppression, exploitation and wars rather it will be built around an idea focusing on peace. In the statement which is reminded many article of the bill was cancelled by Supreme Court as not being seen compatible with law and human rights, it is pointed out that rules and practises worse than those in 1994 are wanted to be put into practise.

' Extra-judicial killings will start again'

In the statement which is said that freedom of thought and organizing is wanted to be removed, it is put that the government which want to eradicate opponent political ideas want to continue their hold of power under the demogogy of distinguishing terrorist from men. The statement which touches upon 7th article of the bill states that the article contains provision that all thoughts can be penalised. In the statement which tells that new bill will open the way of torture and protect torturers, it is put that extra judicial killings can take place again. In the statement which says that practises that could bring about rotting of writers, trade unionists are wanted again to be brought back, meaning an antidemocratic regime is wanted to be put into circulation, Terrorism Bill is wanted withdrawn.
