SIRNAK (DIHA) - In the Habur Border Gate where there are long rows of trucks and oil tankers, drivers complain of slow process at the gate because of scarcity of personnel and service, and ask for solution.
Drivers attribute the long rows to the ongoing restorations in Habur Border Gate, scarcity of personnel and arbitrary practice. They say that they all contribute to lack of performance and delay the process. Drawing attention to the fact that they have been waiting at in the row for 17 days and that they would wait for 5 more days to cross the border, they said that there are no more bribing for skipping the row with the "bribe operation".
Lack of personnel causes slow process and civil servants do not attend to us because of fatigue. There should be 100 personnel working but there are only 40 working. Servants attending to the examination process have to deal with the two entry point. The lorry driver called Faruk Uygar, who says that although the lorry row extending from Silopi to Cizre has become smaller, they still wait in the row. He says that they burn their spare tyres in order to get warm. They should appoint new servants to the Customs or there should be new regulations."
Another driver says that the regulations that start in BOTAS after exit from Cizre become more awkward. He said that the road of Habur teemed with drivers that don't know any rules, because of the ignorance of policemen. The slow pace of the process causes the traffic to get in this state.
