MERSİN (DİHA) - Now that the Sacrifice Festival of Muslims approaches, animals are now on the market. In Akdeniz Quarter of Mersin, sacrificial animals are sold by credit cards. Tradesman said that they resorted to this method because they did not have a chance to compete with gross markets.
Sales increased at the animal market with the Festival approaching. Sales by credit card started at the animal market on Karacailyas Road in Akdeniz Quarter of Mersin.
At the market where the lowest price is 300 YTL, animals wait for credit card owners. Nazmi Gök, who has been selling animals for sacrifice for 15 years, said 'We can't sell as many as before now that gross markets are selling animals by credit cards. Some people say that it is not religiously proper to buy animals for sacrifice. They buy from us, but it is not enough for us either.' Mahir Birgün, who is concerned about loss sell in cash, said 'I will sell by credit card. We did not sell in loan to those who did not have money. Sales will increase at least with the credit card way. Otherwise, we will be at loss.'
