MERSİN (DİHA) -The water of barrage of Berdan which is used for irrigation has been cut off for the associations not paying their debt of 800 billion.The chairman of Mersin chamber of Agriculture Salim Ongun who stated that the farmers who deals with problems like marketing and the power of competition could save their products by irrigation said that if the rain had not been raining we could not save the products in greenhouse and in other areas of agriculture.
The water of barrage of Berdan had been cut off about one month ago for the associations not paying their debt of electiricity which is about 800 billion.In the city which irrigation is widespread the farmers has been saved by the rain.Authoritizeds of Mersin Chamber of Agriculture who has taken action after the application of farmers has not reached any conclusion with their meeting with the associations.
The chairman of Mersin Agriculture Salim Ongun who stated that the associations could not pay the debt because of material difficulties has complained about the high price of the electiricity. Ongun who takes attention to the if the rain was not raining most of the products would be wasted said that if the last rain has not been raining the farmers could not raise the products.
