BATMAN (DIHA) - Tobacco purchases have been started with an estimated cost of YTL 4.36 per kilo in Kozluk county, Batman southeastern province; the quota has been fixed as 200 kg.
7000 Tobacco producers of the county rushed into Kozluk Leaf Tobacco Processing Centre after tobacco buying is announced to be started. The farmers engaged in tobacco, pointing out, the production has almost come to an end thanks to the quotas and low-fixed buying prices, says tobacco production has died. "Unless quota limit has been lifted, our yields will remain on hand unsold. Officials should determine the real tobacco producers, whence quota limit rises from 200 kg to 400kg".
It has been reported that tobacco purchases will continue one and half months at YTL 4.36.
