NEWSCENTRE (DİHA) – Unemployment is spreading more and more in Turkey. Following 530 workers’ firing yesterday, there are 1350 workers who have been fired today.
Global crisis effect was going to be tangential for Turkish economy according to PM. R. Tayyip Erdoğan. But data about economy and unemployment are contradicting Erdoğan’s saying. Particularly the numbers of unemployment are becoming more visible and undeniable indicators for crisis influence.
Five hundreds of workers lost their job when one of marble manufacturer in Çermik-Diyarbakır closed down because of crisis while others going on decreasing capacity by now.
On the other hand 850 workers also lost their job in Karşıyaka-İzmir Municipality.
Trade Unions have evaluated this situation as mass massacre for workers on May Day.
