DTP: This terror was in Diyarbakır not in Gazze 17:09 17.02.2009

DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) – DTP Diyarbakır deputy has evaluated police actions against demonstrator in Diyarbakır where 15th February conspiracy had been protested by participating of thousands of people; Security forces have interfered brutally and intolerant way in this case which you cannot explain it by any kind of democratic or peaceful approach. AKP administration is responsible for this brutality. Also Diyarbakır Mayor Osman Baydemir, who had been attacked by police, has criticized police action against demonstrator; this is not Gazze but Diyarbakır. This is AKP’s ugly face.

DTP Diyarbakır deputy Aysel Tuğluk, provincial head of DTP Diyarbakır Ali Şimşek, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Baydemir and some of other mayors around Diyarbakır have organized a press meeting to share their evaluation on police action against protestors of 15th February conspiracy in Municipal Building. Initially, meeting has been launched by a video show about which Israel attacks on school in Gazza caused children deaths. And then police attacks on protestors during 15th February demonstration in Diyarbakır has been showed which a lot of children have been injured. Following the video show DTP Diyarbakır deputy Aysel Tuğluk read the press statement on the case.

“We felt deep sadness when this incident occurred in Diyarbakır. As a matter of fact people, who were under attacked by police, have been trying to use their rights comes from being citizenship when police were using unbalanced force against them.” said Aysel Tuğluk. She blamed governorship and AKP administration of being insensitive about the regions people by pointing out that if governments want to create a peaceful atmosphere they could do.

Call for responsibility and sensitivity

Tuğluk called on Turkish public opinion to be sensitive and responsive in order to criticized AKP administration and security forces’ intentional brutal practice on people. “When police attacked on demonstrators, in fact Turkish and Kurdish people’ unity has been targeted. Also other target was to criminalize region people and DTP as their representative. Following this brutality government also doesn’t have any steep about developing dialog for peaceful solution on Kurdish problem.” said Tuğluk.

'Despotic behave remains inconclusive'

She also has strongly reacted against Diyarbakır Governor Hüseyin Avni Mutlu’s speech which he said ‘do not stay in back, live in this day’ reminding Gazza events: Everybody needs to be honest. Despotism have never brought peace and remained inconclusive. Even though government’s attacks we have never given up spending effort to unite society. Tuğluk reminded that recent applied violence is going to effect people’ idea about PM in negative way and Kurds will not listen or care what PM is going to say.

Violence has to be ended

In addition Diyarbakır Mayor Osman Baydemir criticized security forces action also when he was answering the questions after the meeting. He said police force was nothing for me if we compare to violence applied to our people. He pointed that after this violation Kurds became more aware about PM and his administrations ugly face, thus our people going to make AKP just as signboard in the region.
