İSTANBUL (DİHA) – The ceasefire decision of the KCK was considered as an important opportunity for peace attempts in spite of arrestments against DTP and KESK and deaths caused of operations by the lecturer of the conference named Dialogue for Solution.
"Dialogue for Solution Conference" organized by Turkey Peace Assembly started in Dolapdere Campus of Bilgi University. About 150 people included DTP co-chair Ahmet Türk, DTP deputies Aysel Tuğluk and Bengi Yıldız, DEP former deputy Hatip Dicle, Mete Çubukçu, Cevat Öndeş, Galip Ensarioğlu, some writers, academicians, attended the conference for discussion of peaceful solution of Kurdish problem. Opening speech of conference was made by Turkey Peace Assembly Spokesman Hakan Tahmaz and DTP co-chair Ahmet Türk.
In the opening speech, Tahmaz indicated that in spite of arrestments against DTP and KESK, ceasefire decision of KCK is an important opportunity and deaths caused by operations push peace attempts. He also said no one included Öcalan, shouldn't be pushed out of the base of the dialogue. On the other hand, Türk said that it is possible to come together under a civil association constituted for solution of Kurdish problem.
'After this, expecting good things is a pipe dream'
Tahmaz criticized Prime Minister Erdoğan's speech "Attitude of DTP became clear". He said "Prime Minister should question his own attitude but DTP. Fallowing the Chief of Staff’s speech, Erdoğan's speech, which does not include anything intended for solution is meaningful. After this, expecting good things would happen is a pipe dream".
'Everyone should participate in dialogue, included Öcalan'
Tahmaz denoted that the conceptions of problem as a security and order problem should be abandoned and in order to make ceasefire permanent operations should be stopped. He also denoted that each actor has big responsibilities in such a crucial period like this. He said "We want to discuss intending to solve problem directly and opportunities and appliances for this". He said that as a first step DTP's peaceful approach should be answered and no one included Öcalan, shouldn't be pushed out of the base of dialogue. Tahmaz also said that applications until now haven't cause nothing elsefrom death and a plan, a roadmap is needed including concrete demands and requirements to advance the solution period.
'Governments do not want to face the reality of Kurdish problem'
On the other hand, Türk indicated that Kurds want to solve this problem in unity of Turkey and framework of democratic rights. He said Kurds and people who believe in democracy, took lessons from the past war period of 30 years yet, governments do not want to face the reality of Kurdish problem. Türk also stated that denial and annihilation policies have no contribution to solution and there is a need of change in approach of the state and PKK declared clearly opinion of solution by peaceful ways. He said "What are requests in this period? A period is being lived that requests of NGOs, democracy powers, Kurds and even PKK are getting closer. The solution in unity of Turkey and self-respecting peace are wanted".
'It is possible to unite in a civil association'
Türk continued his speech by emphasizing that unlike past, nowadays democracy powers came together around common requests which make it possible to unite in a civil association. He said "Kurds revealed their solution. Common requests are not sufficient for solution. Approaches of political parties and the state are also important for solution".
'Political rulership is under guardianship"
Türk stated that in spite of President Gül's speech about the historical opportunity for solution of Kurdish problem, it is obvious now that there isn't any plan or project for solution. He reminded that like speechs of Çiller about Basque model, of Demirel about Kurds reality and Yılmaz("the road of EU passes through Diyarbakır"), Prime Minister said that they made wrongs about Kurdish problem. Türk said that these are not said spontaneously, they saw some realities and wanted to face them out but they stepped back in a few days. He emphasized that these show the guardianship which governments are under and added it is more obvious nowadays.
'Peace Assembly could participate in every platform'
Türk stated that CHP participated in this period and they declare their opinion about the necessity of general amnesty and declaration of government's plans about the solution. Türk indicated importance of the support of main opposition to government projects. Türk said that Chief of Staff gave the message to the president and prime minister from America and the message says "If we don't want, you have nothing to do". He noted that in order to democratize and change the process, trade unions and political parties have crucial duties and added that Peace Assembly could participate in every platform. Türk emphasized that the attempts of Kurds can not solve the problem and the equality and fellowship of Turks and Kurds are the most important requests. He added that Turks and Kurds should struggle together in this period determinedly otherwise pro-Ergenekon and components of status quo would be decisive since the lack of plan for solution of political rulership. He said "It is important for us to be insistent factor. If we question the system properly and we insist the victory of democrats rises".
