ANKARA (DİHA) - In the statement made by DTP it was stated that until now 50 party manger were arrested unlawfully as a result of their party being shown as a target by PM Erdogan and authorities of state, and condemned this approach.
In the written statement made by Democratic Society Party (DTP), pro-Kurdish Party, oppressions and arrests against their party were condemned. In the statement which stressed that as a result of targetting of PM Erdogan and state authorities, province and district managers were arrested, it was said that ''Our many party building were raided, and our managers were detained and arrested as a result of this unlawful attitude. Total our 50 managers including 5 province chairman and 9 district chairman were arrested unlawfully. We encounter detentions and assaults resulted from this attitudes of PM targetting our party with regret in an environment which Turkey enters into election process. In the statement which stated that DTP takes its legitimacy from constitution, assaults and pressures against DTP and mayors were described as an assult directed against democratic political life, and it was stated that this picture is worrying for democratic future of Turkey.
'Removing Baydemir from office is to pour oil on fire'
In the statement which stressed that investigations were opened about mayors of DTP and removing of Baydemir, Mayor of Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, was wanted in the investigation opened against him, it was said that '' We want to remind that such a result is to pour oil on fire. Disrespect and intolerance to willpower of people is amounting to play with democracy and democratic political life. And neither democratic public of Turkey nor our people will let this.''
The statement which states that the assaults can not break faith of DTP in terms of democratic peaceful solution of Kurdish problem, it was said that:
'' We condemn this unlawful and arbitrary assaults against our party. We call democratic public and our people to claim their managers and mayors against this unlawful attitude which has no legal basis.''
