PrintANKARA (DİHA) - Democratic Society Party (DTP) took decision to change co-presidency system, which was applied for the first time in Turkey, in accordance with Political Parties Law in its Party Assembly and meeting of province presidents. Also to continue campaigns which aim to change the law was agreed by consensus in the meetings.
Decisions taken in the meeting held between 2-4 June by participation of DTP Party Assembly and province presidents were declared. In the written statement made about the matter, it is notified that to turn DTP First Common General Assembly, which will be held on 25 June, into ' Democratic Solution General Assembly', to ensure congress realised with enthusiastic participation, taking important decisons about important policies of party and to give messages about this were planned after reviewing.
In the declaration which states that regulations changes, which will be done for legal considerations, were taken into agenda, it was said that '' It was found appropriate to discuss co-presidency system, which brought novelty to our political life in terms of represantation of woman, although it is not included in Political Parties Law, and to change it in accordance with Political Parties Law.''
Support to campaign of Woman Assembly
In the statement which also indicates that the decision to support DTP Woman Assembly campaign which aims to change political parties law, removing 10 percent vote threshold and to change law agaisnt co-presidency system was taken, it was stated this work will be turned into campaign with expansive participation which will mobilize all forces of democracy.
In the statement which drew attention to gangs whose number increase more and more, wanted Prime Minster Erdogan to set in motion Inspection Councill and President Sezer to activate State Control Commission according to 108 th article of Constitution. The statement which also touched upon firedamp explosion, expressed deep pain for workers' death and called for due precautions taken to prevent reoccurence of the event.
Way of DTP is being blocked
The statement which pointed out to systematic assaults to members and buildings of DTP at last times, it was emphasized that the way of DTP's political works wanted to be hindered. It was also indicated that DTP will continue to wage struggle of democracy and law in spite of all hindrances.
