İSTANBUL (DİHA) -Chucho Valdes, a famous Cuban Pianist with his jazz Quartet will give concert on 6 April in Istanbul.
Jazz Quartet which was formed by Chucho Valdes, one of the famous Pianist who is alive in Cuba, in 1998, will take stage with sister of the Pianist Marya Caridad. The concert of Jaz Quartet which Lazaro Alarcon with bass, Juan Carlos Rojan Castro with drum and Yaroldy Abreu in percussion is on 6 April at 20.00 in Is Sanat.
About Chucho Valdes...Chucho Valdes who began to play piano when he was 3 year old, founding Jaz trio when he was 15 and recording '' Churcho Valdes y su Combo'' which is his first long-playing record, after his participation to ' Jamboree Jaz Festival' in Poland, was selected among the 5 best jazz pianist along with Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and Oscar Peterson. Legendary Irakere group established in 1973 had taken the title of first Cuban group which had taken Grammy. The famous pianist who had taken Gramy with 'Cresol' which he established with Roy Hargrove in 1996, had been chosen to Los Angeles '' Hall of Fame'' in Latin America Jazz category with Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri and Lalo Schiffrin. The artist which has been shown for 14 times as candidate to Grammy, had won the prize 5 times.
The artist who had given concert in music centers with famous names of Latin music like Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Hollywood Bowl, New York Blue Note, Village Vanguard, is owner of Cuban National Music Prize and Felix varela which are most valuable prizes of his country. Chucho Valdes has been working on records of Obatala named opera.
